Fellow AH Members:
I bought a 1986 Land Cruiser FJ45 in Namibia in 2021. Imported into the USA in 2022, a long process completed and a clean title in hand issued in the US.

I have decided to sell this vehicle. New safari rack and canvas seat covers were installed before the truck left Africa. New tires and wheels upon arrival. New starter going in this week, parts are relatively easy to find for this motor in the states. Runs and drives good, even at 60 mph down the highway.

Wish I had the room to keep the truck, garage real estate is at a premium at my place currently. $40k buys it and covers my costs getting this rig home and legal. Serious inquiries only please.

Thanks,
Mark

Could you send more photos and specifics - engine type and model, wheel base, factory model number? Location?

I already have two TLCs and have owned 4 others... addicted.

To those that reached out I have deer tags in Kansas and Iowa so I’ll be gone most of December. I’ll send those that reached out more pictures and data when I get back to Missouri.

What does the interior look like? Seats recovered or in good condition?

How many miles or kilometers on it? Does the speedometer read in kilometers or miles?

Was it used by a PH for hunting? How tight is the suspension and steering?

Dude. You can't post Toyota (porn) like this before you go on a trip!!! ;)

Looks like a really nice rig. GLWTS.

So... FJ means non diesel, F2 6 cyl gas engine, if original, fuel injected 4.2L. 5 speed transmission. I owned a couple FJ40 series trucks going back to the early 70s. They are good in the outback. I took one through the original Jeep Jamboree trail and all over the west.

Someone should buy it. These are getting hard to find nd going UP in price. At $40k it's a pretty good deal, depending on condition.

Check out this website: www.IH8MUD.com - everything your ever wanted to know about Toyota Landcruisers.

If you look at your frame serial numbers near the steering box you will find that the serial numbers will show that it is 85 or earlier.
Proper engine 2-F, Asihi carb
Transmission indestructible 5 speed
May or may not have front disc brakes

I have owned over 15 FJ & HJ (HJ) 45 & 47

Year model in Africa is year first sold

Appreciate the feedback, I went through a lengthy process here in the US to title this vehicle and had to list the specs many times.

This is a 1986 FJ45, L6 motor and 4 speed manual transmission to clarify to the other members. More pics coming soon! Apologies for the delays all.

Mark it's the last of the good Toyota's ( if there's such a thing)
Built like a brick out house. The petrol motor is strong and reliable and the diesel can't be beaten to death with a big stick.
It willy-nilly be going long after these new ones are dead.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
