Good day members. I build a .375 H&H Magnum rifle a few years back. I then had to re-barrel it. So I had to remove all the different sights on the barrel. This .375 H&H Magnum now has four different sight systems on its barrel and it is a Classic /Traditional rifle design.

Here are photos of the rifle and the sight systems I am fitting again. I have a Ghost ring system with a large brass bead to enhance the view through the ghost ring.

Then I have a 1/4 rib V-Express sight with distance indicator flip up indicators sighted for 50 meter,100 meter and 150 meter. The third sight system is the rifle scope rings and bases for long er shots and plains game hunting with 225 to 270 gn bullets ..

.the Ghost ring system will be used in scrub bush for warthog and bush buck, the V-Express sight will be use for 100 meter shots when hunting open terrain in the bushveld ...There are two drilled and tapped holes to fit a infra red night sight to hunt jackal or bush pig in the dark

Nice. What action are you using?

Your rifle will be unique for sure. I have a BRNO VZ 24, I didn't know Mauser made one as well.

Shootist, let me rephrase" It is a large ring Mauser action VZ 24:

The vz. 24 rifle is a bolt-action carbine designed and produced in Czechoslovakia from 1924 to 1942. It was developed from the German Mauser Gewehr 98 line, and features a very similar bolt design. The rifle was designed in Czechoslovakia shortly after World War I, to replace the Vz.

Gert, I'd been looking for a BRNO VZ-24 for a while. A couple of months back I went to an "estate" sale and picked one up for $310.00. It is still in Military guise, but I have swapped out the front sight for a taller one. Now I need to take it to a range and determine how much of the taller sight I need to file off, so the rifle is zeroed for 100 yds. The action is simply sweet. I haven't made up my mind as to what to do with the gun i.e. keep it as is or build something from it.

Cz 24s are sweet. Nice rifle @Gert Odendaal . @Shootist43 I would keep it as is. They are getting rare in military condition as everyone makes custom rifles out of them, which they are excellent for. I think they will be like good condition 1903s after a while. Expensive.

Shootist, I try to keep the military rifles from the past as stock standard as possible..I have a Swedish Mauser 6.5 x 55 in mint condition aswell as a 7.5 x 55 Swiss K31 rifle ..I will keep it stock standard as well will only build a telescope mount for each one to fit a scope...the mounts will be removable to original stock standard if it need be..

Completed the Ghost ring system, the 1/4 Rib V-express today and mount the Minox 4-12x44 scope mounting today..now the finer finishing touches is all that is left..will do some group shooting next week to xero out to 150 meters..

Gert, out of curiosity, how did you establish the height of your Ghost Ring?

Hallo Shootist, I leveled it by long steel ruler...secure it , took the rifle to the shooting range , shoot, adjust until I have a centerline horizontal , secure it with the grub screws ..adjusting my windage I have to options..

the front sight or the ghost ring sight since it is dove tailed...I decide to use the front sight to adjust windage ..it shot right off the target but in the center of the target...so I adjust it again to shoot in the center as well.

I now can spend time on re-loading with 250 gn or 270 bullets ....I took off the ghost ring assembly, store it in the rifle bag for future use...I now mounted the Minox 4-12 x 44 scope to hunt with it shortly..will re-load to shoot grouping shortly..

I completed the two springs/ball bearings to fit into the base of the 1/4 rib where it will keep the flip up distance indicators under tention to be able to withstand the recoil....

Now it is polishing , working the action for fast cycling like the 404 Jeffery and .458 Mannlicher Schoenauer I have ....to enable me to shoot the BASA shooting days .
