A peculiar weapon of some sort coming up for sale in France, and even the auctioneer seems unsure what he is selling.

On his web-site (https://www.caen-encheres.fr/lot/?sale=7780&lot=303121), it is described as:

HUNTING RIFLE USED IN THE FILM THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES OF ADÈLE BLANC-SEC. CATEGORY C
Hunting rifle caliber ?? . This weapon has been entirely recustomized by the Maratier workshops in order to fit into the universe of the film. The stock and the barrel have openwork silver metal ornaments. A dummy telescope is placed on the juxtaposed barrels. A dummy sight has been added at the end of the barrel. This weapon is used by Jean Paul Rouve who plays the role of the professional safari hunter, at the end of the film to kill the Pterodactyl. This film received a Césars and a nomination for the Césars 2011. It was produced and directed by Luc Besson and was released in 2010. Weapon issued to holders of a shooting license or a hunting license and to be declared at the Prefecture. A certificate of provenance and authenticity from the company Maratier will be given to the purchaser. Additional photos on www.aiolfi.com. Additional photos on www.aiolfi.com.
