Does anyone know if there is room without modification in the magazine box on a CZ 55 458 win to seat the bullets longer as to make a little more case capacity to avoid compressed loads using 500 gr bullets and is there enough freeborn for the extra length ?/

Yes there will be.....458 win in the cz550 box looks odd, ream to .458 lott I reckon makes sense for the .458 win cz's.

Not sure of throat dimensions but that will be your sticking point

I have a CZ 550 Magnum, 458WM. As @pc3 stated the mag well is made for longer cartridges than the 458WM cartridge.

I have found in testing, short bullets, ie 45-70 bullets, properly seated to max COAL doesn't work well. The short COAL doesn't allow the cartridge to properly line up to the chamber. In two instances the bullets were pushed back into the case.

When I get back home and get back to reloading bench I have some Woodleigh (?) or Northfork(?), I don't remember all the brands I have off hand, these are pointed bullets, similar to typical bottleneck bullets, I am going to work up some test loads extending the bullet further out. I will also be testing/checking new COALs for Hornady and Nosler(?) round nose solids and soft points.

I load in my CZ 404 Stone Hammer bullets and Barnes TSX at 3.680 with no issues

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
