Hi all!!
Hope this finds everyone well? Regarding the recent hack on AH, if there is some stupid kitchen ad that is posted please don't even click on it!! I notice that there are always some "views" when they post these stupid ads so please don't give them any attention or they might get access to info somehow. Just my opinion. Better to just let J or B deal with them. Don't let your guard down with these asshats!! If I want a kitchen I will go to Home Depot or Lowes!! Watch out for these bait tactics!! I know I'm being a bit paranoid but I don't care. :):)

Never let your guard down and take nothing for granted. Words to live by. Be prepared for the worst possible outcome in any situation and you will never be unprepared or disappointed for the BS that will surely come your way.

Talking to my computer teck's

Opening the link on AH is ok ... The issues or problems is when you click on the link that they provide in the forum posting.

If you want to check there product out do a Bing or Google (or your preferred choice of search engines) search with the product name.

NEVER click on or use some one's web search that they have posted if you do not know who they are.

Always read the web address closely before committing to a search and remove add on's after the .net or .com --- just doing this will help you keep your computer trouble free.

internet security should be run weekly and on a schedule and also run if you went to web sites that you were not sure how you got there.

The not so kind crowd is on the prowl all the time and we need to be careful...

Last year after my wife's computer was taken over and the hard drive fried by hackers we had a chat on her searching habits and she is doing much better following the above advise. Plus i run her security weekly and some i have set up to run daily on her computer.

Spammers are Spammers.
Links and looks is how they get money or attention.

Malicious folks, they get your info or worm you, etc. when you follow the link provided.

Never have figured why anyone looks at them. Perhaps mistaking it for Bluey's humour posts.

Certainly, don't follow the link.

To all of AH members

Wth regards to the idiots that post the nonsensical kitchen ads or other please don't click on the link at all. Leave it to the mods to delete the posts.. I worry for your security. Don't click on the posts at all!! The dumb asses that hack the site want you to do this so they can get attention and possibly more info.. Just ignore them, let AH deal with them. Just my opinion..Don't reply or even view their link at all. Stupid bastards. Believe me I have more than a shit load of despitful comments directed towards these scum, but that is what they want so they can get your info.. Don't fall for it mates!! It's bait to piss you off and get your personal info.. Ignore them!! Please! Give J time to block them before you respond and delete them accordingly.
I hate them but we need to band together and destroy them.

I dont think its possible to get into trouble simply by posting smart ass comments. You are not opening any links, simply posting on AH. Relax.

Should use them as targets for that new toy!:sharpshooter:

Today, I decided after the umpteenth (beyond my recall) number of these twits SPAM posts that I have removed, I would try and figure out what is motivating them to be so darned persistent.

Can you say "Pump and Dump".
(To save me the long index explanation)
"Pump and dump" (P&D) is a form of microcap stock fraud that involves artificially inflating the price of an owned stock through false and misleading positive statements, in order to sell the cheaply purchased stock at a higher price. Once the operators of the scheme "dump" their overvalued shares, the price falls and investors lose their money.

It appears to be something like this though process, but with a domain name.

The domain name that we have all grown to loath, has numerous combinations and permutations of same name owned by one guy.

If you purchase or create a domain name, which this twit does, and then he proceeds to hire some folks in INDONESIA to post threads in every forum they can find on the internet, including here.
All done hoping that people will click on it. It does not matter if you click to bitch/complain buy or otherwise, etc etc, you click, it counts.
Recipe:
SITE VISITS GO UP! VALUE GOES UP! SELL DOMAIN NAME!, MAKE MONEY!

For the poor dumb ass who buys said Domain name with all this kind oftraffic statistics, which obviously disappear after the INDONESIANS focus on other domains, gets screwed.

So, it comes down to MONEY!

It seems on the surface to be something out of the UK right?!
Wrong. This is only where the registration of the name happened.

It took four hours to find out the convoluted story.

The apparent owner (as much as you can trust the internet):

A 32 year old Swiss citizen Luc Andre Biggs going by the user name (Federer) in some places, who has emigrated to Portugal.

The countries involved:
UK; Domain Registration

Old Home town: chemin des Cornalles 15, 1802 Corseaux VD, Switzerland
Luc Biggs and Diana tel: +41219224045 mobile: +41219224045
His Company in Switzerland: Biggs immobilier
Company Number: CH-550.1.049.413-5

Biggs Swiss.jpg

New Home Town: Rua Fernando Barros Ferreira, Torres Vedras, Lisbon Portugal 2560-253
Phone: +351.261404449
Key-Domains is his apparent company in Portugal.

Server Home: Bahamas Servers, Clouds etc.
Indonesia; Twits for hire to create internet traffic. Apparently sweat shops are alive and well.

Conclusion:
You click, the spammers win.

Agreed, thank you..

so even opening the thread gives these wankers , traffic ?
or do you you have to click on their highlighted bits ?

Just keep clicking the little triangle in the bottom left of the post and then do a reply saying "spam reported". Just to let the other members know not to bother reporting it.

It's quick and simple

I for one wouldn't take the chance. Don't know for sure, but ignoring them is the best option for me. Hope you have a chance to check out that Urban Dictionary site. It's pretty twisted, be warned Bluey..

Does this Mean I won,t get my New Kitchen delivered to Minnesota,,thank God i only sent them half the Money:o
