Not sure if this is the right place or not. If it isn't, Jerome, please move it.

For folks in the Houston area, nothing special, but anyone interested in a meet-up, The Richmond Arms has a vast selection of beer and pretty decent pub food. They have darts, billiards, and either live music or karaoke most of the time.

I don't have a date in mind (though April is out, at least for me - every weekend is booked from now to 1 May).

It would be fun to hoist a couple and tell lies about the big one we just couldn't quite get to.

Maybe mid- to late-May or some time in June.

If I was in Houston we would get this kicking. Come on folks nothing better than meeting your AH friends in person.

Beer and implements that could cause bodily harm, @Buff-Buster could probably be interested in that.

Hell yeah, you had me at beer! When you get a date let me know. I can usually plan around work when it involves drinking and talking about hunting!
Cheers,
Cody

3 and 10 June are both looking good to me.

I look exactly like my picture, except add about 4 or 5 years to it. ;)

Either works for me at the moment, I look a lot like a cross between Brad Pitt and the dude that played Magic Mike only fatter and not so attractive to women, but I can consume more scotch than both combined and I have way better political views! Lol

I googled the pub, looks cool, surprisingly I've never been there as close as it is to Collectors Firearms.

Count me in guys. I'm leaving June 7th for SA. May 20-30 is pretty much booked also.

I've got a few years on Cody so I look more like George Clooney except with more grey hair, a whole lot less money, a few extra pounds and a lot better political views. Come to think about it, maybe not much like George Clooney but my wife's hotter than his anyway!

I got to agree with ya Wes, especially on Sandy, awesome woman my friend! Maybe a little field trip to the new gun store if it's open by then. Looking at Rigby's and knowing I can't afford one always makes me extra thirsty!

...Collectors Firearms.

Love that place! I ordered my Les Baer Boss 1911 through them.

Their website is dangerous though! Everytime I check it out, I want to start buying historic firearms with great provenance!

The Boss is an awesome handgun! I can go into collector's and spend hours just wandering, you will find something new every time you are in there. There used to be an older black guy that dressed western that seemed to be an authority on 1st and 2nd generation Colt Single Action Army revolvers, he was very interesting to talk to. At the time I had decided that I needed to get into SAA's and he spent a lot of time teaching me what to look for that devalued colts. In the end I have bought several SAA's mostly for shooting, the collecting end of it was far to intense with all the counterfeit colts and colts with Italian parts in them for sale. I decided to leave that game for the serious guys and I just enjoy the ones I've got as I do any other pistol, but a SAA in the hand sure does make a guy think of days past, when the colt prevented many arguments and settled them once and for all if an agreement couldn't be reached. Collectors is a place where those guns ranging from 1500-over 100k can be seen and taken home if your bank book can handle it.
Cheers,
Cody

I've been going there off-and-on since maybe 1998. Beers on tap back then were the handful of Texas micro-brews and lots of beers from the British Isles (Boddington's, Guiness, Murphy's Irish cream, Newcastle, etc). The US beer market has exploded in the last 20 years, so there are a lot more domestic offerings than there once used to be. You can still get one of the Big 3 as a standby, but those are definitely in the minority there.

Collector's is a nice place to put my hands on something, but I find that they're generally a bit on the spendy side. Plus, trying to park there is a nightmare.

Rigby, Rigby, Rigby, Rigby!!!!!

Looks like 3 June would be a good send-off day for @Buff-Buster.

Recently moved to Hou- I'd be in but I'm only in town Mon-Thurs

Collectors is a good place to handle stuff but they've been unwilling to negotiate to market in my experience. I'm usually willing to spot them extra for convenience and to support a local brick and mortar but no luck so far.

When is Gordy and sons opening?

Supposed to open this month, @sierraone and I took a tour of it last month, I think it is going to be phenomenal! First Class all the way

Sweet!

I've been looking for a new O/U scatter gun and want to handle some of their wares before I make a decision.

Sgt it's a new high end outfitter:

Gotcha. That's only about 10 minutes from my office. Will have to go check them out.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
