I hope all the AH members in Alaska are OK after the earthquake? Please let us know!

All's well with me and the family. I did lose a 24+in impala skull from my first safari. But everyone and everything else is fine. Thank you for asking. I know we have quite a few more on here from the last frontier.

Good Bless

God Bless
Darn autocorrect!

Plenty of stuff to clean up but otherwise I am fine. The initial quake and nearly 1400 aftershocks in the past few days have frazzled some nerves.

We were Rockin and Rollin for awhile but all good. My wife had a pic in a frame sitting on a shelf that hit the floor. We also have a relatively new condo in Anchorage that did not have any damage.
The epicenter was up around Wasilla which is about 200 miles north of us (Seward) and I am sure there are some AH folks up there that got a real ride.
Thanks for checking on us.

Good news from you guys so far! Glad to hear.

Glad everyone is ok! Anyone hear from Paul @Velo Dog ?

I heard that he was curled up in the Safari Bar with his young wife, double rifles, and a bottle of good Scotch but that just rumor....:-)

Bullyhrower338 - et al,

Sorry I didn’t see this thread until just now.
Doing well, in spite of the quake, thanks for asking.
I held my wife with one arm and the living room center post with my other arm, plus one leg around the post as well lol.
It felt and sounded like the whole house was going to fly apart but, it held together.
Things fell from the book shelves and framed pictures fell from the walls, but nothing much else really happened.
Other people in the area were not so lucky.
I know one person who’s carport smashed down on top of their pickup truck.
Another person suffered a broken water main and their basement flooded before they got it shut off.
I think only one house caught fire in Anchorage.
Some bridges were badly damaged, as well as some surface roads cracked apart.
If Wyoming wasn’t so cold, I’d move there hahahaha.
Thanks again for everyone’s thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it.

Best regards,
Paul.

This is what our brand new kitchen looked like after. All the wife’s dish’s and glasses were broken along with a bunch of sauces and spices.

I’m sorry to learn of your damage but, very happy to learn neither if you were injured.

It didn't do my guns any favors that we are in the Safe's. They got rattled around quite a bit.

, That one fellow in Eagle River his house clear collapsed.

Houses and stuff can be replaced. Your lives cannot. Be safe up there in the far North!

After the quake there were moose that are usually solitary animals in herds. Standing in a field along the highway.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
