Has any one used the PRVI 6.5mm bullets on African Game? I am able to buy some but would like to get some feedback from anyone that has used them.

No experience with the Privi, but I assume you know it's a standard cup and core bullet.

The only 6.5 mm premium hunting bullet I see available right now is the Barnes 127 gr LRX.

I bought five boxes of Privi in 6.5x57 (139grain) just so as to have brass for a Mannlicher-Schoenauer I acquired some time ago. I can honestly say that it didn't shoot great out of my rifle, but that also didn't surprise me. Once I put together some handloads, all was well. The Privi brass was soft in my experience and worked well through the full length die. The primer pockets were tight.

As far as performance as 'shootist' said above, it's a cup and core bullet. I have no experience with this ammo on African game, but it flattened the living sh*t out of a Wisconsin whitetail last year at about 100 yards. I wasn't able to recover the bullet to be able to impart an opinion on it's performance outside of lethality.

Hope some of this helps...

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock

Hello there. I’ve been wanting to introduce myself personally & chat with you about hunting Nilgai. Give me a call sometime…

Best,
