I am flying to Europe soon and was wondering if anyone here could help me.
If you have your vaccine card do you still have to present a Negative PCR test to board the plane in the states?
I know when flying to Africa I had to have a negative PCR test to board but they also didn’t care about the vaccine. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. You cannot get around the test. It’s within 3 days of your flight, not 72 hours. New rules are coming out. Unvaccinated travelers will have to test day of arrival and again 3 days later.

Okay, thank you for the response

Depends on the country. I leave for Austria on the 6th which requires only immunization.

I'm headed to Romania by way of Germany this weekend and both countries only require vaccines.

Sorry, I misread your question, you need the Vaccine card to leave the USA and enter the EU and the testing to enter the USA.

Sorry, somehow missed your post. I am also headed to Romania by way of Germany on Monday.

I head to Austria on Wednesday and also only a vaccine requirement.

Thanks everyone. I wasn’t sure if the states required a negative test to fly out

Different countries have different requirements, it’s best to check with the destination and transit countries directly as requirements are subject to change. Also, check with your airline on what they may require. I had several family members fly into Poland in the last 2 weeks direct from JFK and Newark. The only requirement to enter the country for a non citizen was the negative PCR test within 3 days of arrival. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Thank you sir. And yes I have checked and Romania only requires the vaccine but I was unsure if I still had to present a negative test for our rules stateside before leaving.
