I have an opportunity to fly Discover Airlines a subsidiary of Lufthansa Airlines to Namibia. Has anyone flown them and been in their Business class?

Reviews please.

Thanks,

HH

Lufthansa's gun handling fee is a bit outrageous ... but not as bad as Brit Airways. Presumably their subsidiary charges the same? I never fly business class so have no perspective on that. Wherever I sit I'm going to be miserable and won't sleep. May as well save money.

Where are you departing from?

The few times I've flown Lufthansa, I have always been impressed. Will be watching this thread because the US to Frankfort to Windhoek routing is desirable. As others have stated, fees for firearms, permit issues transiting Germany, etc can be deal killers.

I’ve flown with them from Frankfurt last year. Cattle class, not up front ! I book through the Lufthansa website. I keep my luggage to a minimum. 1 Peli case (3220?) holds my disassembled rifle, minimal clothes, Leatherman
3 guys from Toronto joined me and flew Lufthansa/Discover also. None of us were charged for the firearms. Good luck maybe .
A friend of mine is flying to Jo,burg in August with Lufthansa. I asked if they had charged him for his rifle. The reply was there is no charge if you’re flying first class. You are probably good to Windhoek also.

Same here. Lufthansa started a St. Louis (my nearest airport) to Frankfort last year. I checked with Gracey at the Dallas show and that’s their recommendation as well. Eurowings Discovery flies the FRA to WDH legs. All of my research has confirmed that it’s a good option. Even with the extra fees. I’ll probably fly this route in 2025.
