So I thought I'd hit the board to brag about my luck. I recently purchased an office building that started as a Victorian era house. Decided to remodel. Once the remodel was complete and while we still had the construction dumpster I decided to attempt to clean out the decades of junk piled in the basement and the attic. After a few minutes rooting around in the attic I noticed what appeared to be a gun case behind the chimney. Reaching around and grabbing the end I realized there was a gun inside! A closer look revealed 3 guns - but all missing parts. After going back in the next day my luck continued - a bag of triggers and a bolt. Low and behold I had found a Remington 48 sportsman 12 g shotgun, a Remington 552 speedmaster, and a Remington 721 in 300 h&h! Pretty pumped about the find! I intend to get the 721 checked over thoroughly, and if my luck holds up I may have just found my next plains game safari rifle! Either way, just thought I'd share my lucky find with the community.

Happy Christmas...

Congratulations. The 721 will probably prove to be a great find.

Thats some crazy luck! hopefully everything checks out with the rifles.

@Kidder that is indeed a lucky find. Congrats

Cool, congrats!

That is a very unusual find. Not often you find guns left behind. Congrats. Bruce

That's very cool!

A nice find for sure. You wouldn't be KIDDING us would you?

Sweet! The 721 looks to be in excellent condition, everyone I've pulled the trigger on shot well. I used to tell my ex wife that I found guns in the attic also, took her years before she figured out we didn't have an attic!
Cheers,
Cody

wait, those are my guns, I left them there, please send them back,,,,,, LOL

My nephew bought a trialer and was cleaning the vents and found a colt single action !!!

I don' t have such luck

Thats awesome!

Hope it checks out and you get to shoot it alot!

Look forward to the cleaned up version.

That is a hell of a find from a junk pile. Makes me want to go clean some attics out.

Good Score.

How freaking awesome is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm never that lucky. You may go out and buy a lottery ticket while your luck holds.

They were pretty roached from being in soft cases in an attic for 40 plus years. There were documents from around 1975 with them and the last owner of the place had been there since the 1980s and didn't know anything about them. Also were covered in green residue anywhere the bluing had worn through. But the rifle came out pretty well. The 22 alright minus the barrel, but for a shooter i don't really care. The shotgun needs rebluing very badly but I think I will probably hang it on the fireplace mantle in the conference room as a conversation starter as is. Bottom line I'm pumped as the rifle cleaned up fantastic and appears to be a "B" model with the checkered stock, factory recoil pad and sling swivels. However some jackwagon drilled it and mounted a side mount flip scope when it was already drilled and tapped on top. Oh well. Date of manufacture is Oct 1949 assuming it read the letters correctly. Managed to also find a 4 piece set of reloading dies for a .444 marlin and an empty box for a colt 1911. So pretty sure I'll be going back up to root around some more and see where my luck runs out.

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
