Not wanting to derail a thread by @Marcos Rodriguez I am putting a link here to some Australian Slang words.

I did not understand some of the words written on Spanish and I used an Australian expression that they did not know. It opened up the conversation.

Thought It might be of interest

There's probably a lot more on Google

I have been watching Queen of the South on Netflix. They are speaking in English but add in the words like Puta and Cabrone for authenticity.
I googled them , I had an idea what they meant. We have different words with similar meanings.

"Queen of the South"? New South Wales?

That would be Bob, he's a fan of The Palace Hotel that is now a major attraction due to its publicity and promotion of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and the Drag Queen bingo they run.

No Queen of the South is a Mexican, Marco, Cartel Netflix series.

Spending a large chunk of my life within an hour of the Mexican border, almost all of my Spanish (more Spanglish) is slang. Mexicans from central Mexico refer to the Norteño accent has being full of curse/swear words, lol.

Being from a Southern/Appalachian US family adds all that slang as well.

It’s a wonder I can read standard American English.

CBH, thanks for the Aussie slang, fun to learn the ones I didn’t know (like Billabong, I just thought it was a brand).

I think Townsend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen might have bought his last rifle with the winnings from those bingo games?

@CoElkHunter
I have never played bingo and if I had do you think I would admit to it.
Bob
Well, you qualify for a senior's card so I see Lawn Bowls and Bingo in your future Bob.
With a door prize of fresh Tomatoes from your "special" garden.

Chris I have got my seniors card but you can shove bingo and lawn bowls up your arse. I'm not a geriatric yet.
When I get to old to hunt or shoot I will take a long walk in a short paddock.

Bob, someone just told me about a publication named Betoota Advocate. You will get the Aussie political humour.
Also, there's a "Fancy" term for Bundy.
We can say Sugarcane Champagne in company.

hahahahaha
Very interesting post!
I´m gratefull CBH....
Here in Argenttina we have a "dialect" called "lunfardo"... And some others street jergs also...
In example... whath you do with Bob here, we shurely name as "le das con un caño"...
(you hit him with a pipe)
"cabron" i´ts more a mexican or central american word
Here we use some terms more like "pelotudo", "boludo", etc

You see?
The collegue CoElkHunter also would be named here like "puto"... (we use tthis terms with a friends, and in those kind of circles it doesn't sound aggressive but funny, but saying it to someone unknown is rude) or maybe "forro"...
Some people of the inner country uses words like "culiau" (the same thing... between friends are a good word, whith stranges are agressive)

Yes Marcos, you are on the money.
The things you describe are the same here with our words.
I don't hit Bob with a pipe. I put shit on him. It's a term we use.

Bob knows what sort of words I might use to refer to him. I can't write them here.

Cabron is a male goat.

Now...that word has many meanings, the forst would be, a cuckold, then it depends on where, when and whom you address, cound be an insult or a compliment.

Just like many words in English.

That was many years ago, but an australian girl I met told me, "see you in the arvo", and there I was worrying about if that was good or bad, wether I had done anything wrong :E Hmmm:

@Nyati
Yes us Aussies have some strange sayings that are hard to explain. Some are impossible to translate into another language and have the same meanings
Bob

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
