finally after ordering them in 270 grn for my 375 ,way baxk in November last year , the gun shop finally rang and told me they will be here at the end on next week .
glad he thought to get me 3 boxes ,
in the 30 cal he still cantt get them yet .
I ended up loading berger vld in 190 grain ,for our African adventure ,
they seem a good consolation ,got em zinging out of the 300 rum.
its just so hard to get any barnes projectiles down here , its a real p.i.t.a.

They stuck around because they are too heavy to preform best. 150gr TTSX are as heavy as you need in .308 cal.

Cannot get TSX for my .300WM here in the UK. Discontinued they say. A Frames are $140 a box in the UK.

Absolute madness. Got my hands on 100x 180 gr Nosler Partitions which will have to do the job!

Excellent bullets. I use them in my 300 win mag, 300 RUM and 243-weight for the caliber 30 is 180 grains and 243 is 80 grains. In both cases are TTSX bullets. In Argentina they are very hard to find and very expensive too.

I would prefer the TSX over the ttsx for africa pg. used the ttsx in May , the tip opens the bullet upon impact, larger entrance hole, less penetration than the tsx, my experience anyway. Shot a large zebra quarter away on the entrance hole was the size of a silver dollar, lodged in off shoulder.

I've used both TSX and TTSX bullets in my .300 Weatherby. Both are accurate and have quickly killed every animal that I've shot with them. I do make sure that there is not another animal behind the one that I am shooting at, especially with the TSX bullets.

I understand the weight is maintained but, comparing the two TTSX weights, doesn't the greater sectional density of the 180gr make it a better choice with larger game?

No doubt.

I would agree that with an X-bullet, 150gr is possibly optimal in a .308 Winchester or similar size case, but in the case of the various magnums, I think you can take advantage of the heavier bullet's higher SD and BC.

My H&H has now beat 3,050 fps with two different powders, using the 180gr TTSX. That is plenty fast to get all the benefits of high velocity, with the SD and attending BC and penetration that will come in handy next May WHEN the folks at Tootabi Hunting Safaris get me in range of a large Eland.

Speaking of 180gr TTSX...I shot 3 3shot groups off the bench today with IMR 7828. Largest group was exactly 1 inch center to center. Next was 0.85" and the third was 0.67".

Seeing as I have 15 pounds of IMR 7828 and less than a pound of Reloader 22, it looks like I will focus on IMR 7828.

The best shooting load averaged 3,058 fps mv per the chronograph.

Range 1 (position shooting range) was closed today due to standing water...so no shooting off the sticks today.

This No. 1 appears to be a shooter. I just have to make sure I don't wear it out before next May!

Should be close.

What shoots best may change a little in 6 months and 4-500 rounds...may have to add a half-grain of powder to compensate for throat erosion!

74 grains of powder going through a small hole will do that!

This rifle/scope combo is really sweet to shoot. You need to shoot it right away once I get to camp...you may decide you need to kill something with it!
