So why am I selling this shotgun? Simple, my bride has graced me with a Super Black Eagle 3 on the condition that this one moves out. I’ve had it since 2013 and it has seen some field use. Has some minor wear marks and a few dings. It has fed everything I have loaded into it reliably, from 1 oz target loads to 2¼ oz turkey shot. The only exception to this is the lighter 7/8 oz target loads, sometimes they hang up. And truth be told, the Benelli paperwork says it needs 1 oz loads to cycle reliably.

I have patterned Long Beard Turkey choke with Win Long Beard LOK’D & LETHAL 12 BORE / 3” / 1200 FPS / 1¾ oz / 4 shot and it’s good beyond 50 yards.

I used the Rooster XR Late Season choke for skeet, wobble and sporting clays with good results.

This past weekend I patterned it with the Carlson’s TSS choke and Federal Premium Heavyweight TSS Turkey Shot 12 BORE / 3.5” / 1200 FPS / 2¼ oz / #7 tungsten shot. If you were to buy one of these chokes, it would be good 60+ yards, possibly 70.

Yes they do, but these have been duplicated by other chokes I already have that are staying with me. I thought it would be a good start for someone looking for a Turkey/Waterfowl and possibly Upland Birds if they wanted.

I know the original SBE's are a coveted item. I've seen a few of them, but never shot one. By the time I was looking at one, they were out of production...and to tell you the truth I really wanted the comfort-tech stock to mitigate some of the recoil.

Sorry to hear your old one went over the side but glad you got it replaced.

I got an hk sbe 1. It has not much recoil. It kills what you shoot at for sure. I wouldn’t trade it for nothing.

I wouldn't dream of asking anyone to trade their original SBE for mine...but you could add another reliable performer to your collection.

@1dirthawker - I have a friend who almost did the same, but thankfully it was shallow water and he was able to pull the soaked shotgun and gunslip out of the water. Since then he upgraded to a waterproof and floating gunslip. Shortly after he told me about his gun going for a swim, I bought this one from Alpz Outdoorz. It's lightly padded and waterproof. I use the carabineer to clip to the kayak for transit. If I'm kayaking with it out of the gunslip, I unhook the front sling swivel and clip it to a zipper on my clothing. Because I am just THAT clumsy.

I have one from the late 90's. You'll have to pry it from my dead cold and stiffly locked fingers. It's a bit of an odd one too. Wood stock and 26" barrel. Decided that being height and arm length challenged that I might be able to swing the shorter gun a bit quicker and not lose any performance on waterfowl. I was right and then some.

I've laid out in the muckiest winter wheat fields for geese in the dead cold, shot who knows how many upland birds with it and also in a trap league. That gun is like putting on a worn set of gloves that fit just perfect. And with the recoil activated action, versus gas, shooting 3.5" shells is no big deal.

I hope the models that followed it are just as reliable and a pleasure to shoot as the original, but I've no plans to find out.

It would be a pleasure to see you again. I have some 3.5" Hevi-Metal (steel & bismuth mix) BB and BBB ammo that can be had to go with the shotgun. Perfect for goose and duck.

The F3 is staying put. Although the SBE2 was going to stay put...until a SBE3 was added to the vault.

At the same time, I could see some use in keeping the SBE2. Take both SBE's to the duck/goose blind. One loaded with an improved mod choke and close range cartridges. The other with a full choke and the TSS for longer shots. Just pick up the one you need.

I agree with @Woodcarver on this one and have found nothing in the regulations that would prevent me from doing this.

Did you have an experience or know of a law that prevents this in your jurisdiction?

However just because it’s legal, doesn’t mean I won’t take some crap for it because they aren’t happy about it. In that manner I get your point.

Seems to me the proper solution to this problem is for you to buy the SBE2 and prevent me from having the opportunity.
