All I can say is be careful with Bertram brass.
I bought 100, 25-303 cases to fire form in my 25.
The load use was 16gn unique powder, half a square of toilet paper and plugged the case mouth with wax by pushing it into a candle.
I will let the picture speak for itself

This happened 9 cases in a row. The rims were also undersized and the cases had to be pushed out with a cleaning rod. The formed cases would easily fall back in the chamber and the fall back out. Rang Bruce and got told they were within tolerance. I told him maybe yours but not mine. Wouldn't even let me send the cases back for a refund or exchange.
Customer service is zero in my book.
With Bertram brass it's caveat emptor ( buyer beware)
I do know other that have had no issues with his brass and swear by it. Me personally I swear at it.

Can you verify if it is 38-56 brass or a typo and 38-55 brass?

Unless you need correct head stamped brass for Africa I would just form it out of cheap 375 brass for practice and hunting the USA and save your proper head stamped stuff for Africa .

WSM rim = 0.535"
RUM rim = 0.534"
Dakota rim = 0.545"

Making 404J into Dakota might be more doable given the comparable rim/case diameters but Dakota 404 is a full inch shorter case than 404J plus adding a sharp shoulder.
