One of the animals that I was most impressed with during my safari was the Blue Wildebeest. Not only did it dominate the water holes due to their numbers and aggressiveness but they also made for some great table fare :).

On the day I shot my wildebeest, I had been trying to get on a particularly wide bull for most of the day. The problem was that there was a pecking order and the wide bull was not near the top.

I analyzed my situation and applied South Texas Management to my thought process and came up with....Shoot the old dominate mature wildebeest running the show.

I made a good shot and the bull ran 80 yards before going down. I actually thought my lighted nock was glowing....turns out it was the lung blood foaming out of the entry hole.

Great job once again. How many times did you have to draw and let down before you could take the shot? That bull just would not stand still. I have been there and done that too many times myself.

Bar B Q wildebeest is good eating! Looks like you did very well on your hunt. Thanks for sharing the videos.

Thanks for posting, great shot!

Nice animal, congratulations! I'm sure with all the milling around, your hart rate went up a little... ;)

The wildebeest kabobs were my favorite!

Looks like slick tricks in this video? Well done!

So true Khaleesi... Folks that don't bow hunt have no idea of the range of emotions that the hunter can go through. Sitting in a hide looks easy, but it doesn't reflect the hours of time spent in anticipation and often agony watching the animal hang up just outside of bow range. Even when an animal comes straight in, it is usually in a crowd. Trying to harness the adrenaline, remain dead silent, and concentrate for the perfect shot is a lot harder than it appears.

Nice job, and great videos Archer!
