I've just purchased a zkk 602 in 375 h&h and it seems to be in very good condition mechanically but, the stock has been "modified" and is a little worse for wear. Would a cz 550 stock fit the 602 as I've been told they are basically the same rifle. Don't know a great deal about these guns so any info regarding UK parts suppliers and potential problems would be appreciated.
Thanks.

did you buy the one at Holt’s that I was bidding on? The one with the S&B scope or the other one with the silver bolt handle?

Sadly not, it looked great and even had the peep sight. Did you see the mint 550 in 300 win mag that went for £275!!
As far as I know the stocks are different but I don’t know how different.

@One Day... should be able to give you an answer to the compatibility between the two.
Shoot him a PM if he doesn't see this and respond in a little bit.
I know he speaks highly of the Bell and Carlson stock.

I also had a CZ550 375H&H with one of their stocks...loved it.

I didn't see that but I only searched for 375. You know how it is with the licenses 375 was the only slot I had left. First time I've uswd a gun auction but I think it's the way forward. Really interesting stuff and a lot cheaper than most gun shops near me.

This is brilliant stuff guys thanks I'll start checking the aftermarket now and make a few calls on monday

When you get a chance, maybe you could post a photo of your new to you rifle?

that McMillan stock is so far ahead of any of the 600 series stocks it is not funny.
the 2 main faults of the 600s were that both stock choices were abominable, and their set triggers.
the unset option could be worked on to be a good trigger.
bruce.

I am following this with interest as I have a ZKK 602 action and no stock.
I have been trying to source a Walnut stock without success so far. I believe the the CZ 550 will fit but with mods.
It would be nice if someone with both could chime in and maybe post a photo of a Zkk602 action in a CZ550 stock.

there's a couple of pictures, one from the auction and one from when I got back. Don't know if you can tell but someone's added a grip cap, white spacer on the rear and white cap on the forend. The fit and finish is terrible so I'm going to strip the stock and start again. Shame to waste it as its a nice piece of walnut. In the meantime Im going to buy a cheap synthetic stock for some boar hunting next month. Hence the initial post

Have you tried Hatcher’s rifle stocks?

Sean, check this out. http://www.dolphinguncompany.co.uk/

Robertson is a U.S. stock maker that has a distributor or associate in the UK. Supposedly they "do" sporting rifles as well as "F" Class.

The walnut does look nice? I’m sure an expert could repair/refinish the stock to your satisfaction? After all, your actually going to hunt with it and not bury it in a gunsafe and bring it out once in a while to look at?

I recognise the company, I think a local engineer used to supply them with actions. The stocks do look nice, maybe a bit too nice for me, I'm really just looking for a cheap temporary stock while I strip and refinish the original walnut stock. The bell and Carson looks like a nice option for now. Just need to find a supplier and I'm away

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
