Good day AH community,
We here at Bayly Sippel invite you to join us on a safari for 2 of Africa's most iconic hunting species - the Cape buffalo and Sable antelope! This is possibly one of the best hunting combinations one can do and the hunt promises to deliver on all aspects of excitement! Through our carefully managed concessions you can expect to hunt some truly exceptional trophies of both species. Both of these animals will keep you working hard from sunrise to sunset!
Buffalo are truly a noble adversary and it is for this reason that we choose to conduct our hunts to the highest standard. Hard hunting on foot by taking the freshest tracks from the day before. The days are long, consisting mainly of following tracks, sweeping roads & checking waterholes. The hunting is fair chase and we will target old bulls as a preference. We hunt large self sustaining herds on over 12,000 acres. Once you've hunted your first buffalo you'll realize why it's such an addictive hunt! If you could bottle the feeling of your first buffalo and sell it you'd most definitely be a wealthy man! You have to be fit for this hunt as you will likely average up to 15km a day, and on some days a bush lunch will be the order of the day.
As for the Sable side of the hunt we should likely see a good many bulls during the course of the hunt and when the time comes we will know when it's the right time to make a move on a trophy bull! We have a self sustaining population of over 120 animals. It is truly fantastic to drive along and see breeding herds of Sable, lone bulls, bachelor groups and nursery groups. The hunt is only 3 and a half hours from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg close to the border of Botswana. The camp is a beautiful tented camp in the classic old school "Hemingway style".
