Can anyone identify this Lyman sight?

I am trying to replace the Lyman sight that was originally mounted on my 1925 H&H single shot rifle. The holes are spaced exactly 1.5" apart on the tang, behind the safety. I've occasionally seen a few mounted on vintage double rifles like this one:

This also shows a slight curve on the base to match the convexity of the tang. I suspect that most English riflemakers may have used the same model (total guess on my part, though, so I could be wrong). But this one looks like it may work. I also suspect that they used Whitworth screws, but these would be extremely easy to find.

Going by my cheap protractor, the correct forward angle of the sight seems to be around 73 degrees, and the correct height approximately 2" from the mid-point between the two holes on the tang to the line of sight.

I'm just going bananas trying to find the correct sight so I could use my rifle unscoped and restore it to how it was delivered. Does anyone have *any* clue about what this model sight could be?

P.S.--I've asked countless sellers this question, including H&H and J.J. The Great, but no luck even there.

It looks just like the Lyman 1A on my '92 Winchester. But the hole spacing is different. Wonder if the one you're looking for was a Winchester model cut down and drilled for the 1.5" spacing? Distance from the front screw looks about right for that to work. The Winchester has 2.2", roughly, spaced holes.

Look at the website “Track of the wolf”, you should find a Lyman site that will suite your purpose. A skinner site might make sense in addition to this flip up for closer range more practical shots.

Track of the Wolf is a good place to look. They've been pretty good about filling a couple backorders for me when everything seemed to be hard to get.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
