A little background first my grandson just turned 11 months old and I've been babysitting him at least 1 day a week since he's been 4 months old. Lately I've been spending a lot more time with him since his momma is a CPA and tax season began about a month ago. Yesterday he said his first words while I was watching him. I'm so proud of him he said duck, duck while pointing at a pair of decorative decoys in my living room. A few others around here were hoping for mom, mom or da, da or some other foolishness but he is definitely pap's little boy. At least so far.

I am in a similar situation and it is great. Just wait until he is about 2 or 3, he will want to do everything you do. And a few years later, you will have a hunting buddy for the rest of your life!

One can only hope so. My son went squirrel and grouse hunting with me for the first time when he was 5. Still some of my favorite hunting photos are of him on that first trip.

ABSOLUTE QUALITY TIME..and no man can take that away from you! Enjoy it while you can!

Smart kid!! I'd almost bet Pap has a 20 Ga. in the safe with his name on it.
That little guy won't want for anything in the firearm line that's for sure. Pap's got him covered. :sneaky:

Sir as one PaPa to another I say to you there is no such thing as too much time with your grandson! Would it were that every day could be spent with grandchildren as they are one of the great gifts the Lord God has given us.
Until a few months ago....I like you had the joy of keeping my grandson for a few hours each week. Alas he and his parents moved to take up new jobs and I don’t get that pleasure now. I will cherish those hours and days spent with Wyatt until my last day.
So @jduckhunter im mighty pleased to hear that little boy is learning to speak English words that are wildlife related at such a tender age. Keep teaching him because your doing a GREAT JOB!

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
