Classic and Collectible Car and Motorcycle Thread

Not trying to get off topic, but there is a car collection here in Salem, Oregon only open once in a while by invitation only. I would like to take my 85 year old Dad and of course myself to the museum, the problem is a guy needs to know the right people to get an invitation, if any of my AH friends could help that would be awesome. I will post a pic of my 65 Ford F250 when the sun is out this afternoon.

My interests are "future modern classics", trying to acquire them before society figures out they were something of value.

For awhile it was SAAB convertibles, specifically those with near zero miles, convertible, stick shift, highest power motors sold, best turbos, rare colors. That ship has sailed now and they have doubled in price since Covid.

I just helped a dear friend and neighbor pick up this beauty last weekend. The Pontiac solstice was only made for a few years, the GXP model was even rarer with its turbocharged 260HP motor. (14000 produced) The 5 speed stick shift made it even rarer, about 4000 produced. To put it in rarified air, he's looking for a defunct pontiac dealer that still has the programming computer where GM would charge you $1000 for a few sensors and a factory authorized reprogram to turn it into a 290HP monster. (perhaps a few hundred of those exist)

This particular specimen had 8000 miles, no accidents, no modifications.

A very easy vehicle to get yourself killed in with little effort.

This was my first car. (not the exact car, mine is long gone) I bought it when I was somewhere around thirteen or fourteen and they were just crappy old cars that hadn't reached 25-year "classic" categorization. Mine had 63,000 original miles on it when I bought it I'm guessing somewhere around 1990. (I remember game 7 of the Bulls first championship was happening as I handed the guy the cash)

1966 Mustang Convertible in Springtime Yellow. Mine had black interior. (not pony sadly). Original window sticker I think was around $2450?

They were worth about $8800 back then if memory serves me correctly.

This was my "pre-life crisis" ride. I bought this the week of my 21st birthday. I only sold it about ten years ago when I realized motorcycles are not compatible with staying alive long enough to raise children.

I also have a love for old cars. My grandfather bought this 59 pontiac new and my grandparents went on their first date in it. When he passed I bought it from his estate I just couldn't let it go. The others are my 88 foxbody and a 65 f100.

I've posted pictures on this site before, but this is the 2nd time my picture didn't load. Please help?
