.500 Nitro Culling Belt

500-culling-belt.jpg

About This Product

This belt is made with 8 Cape buffalo bullet loops and is specifically designed to hold cartridges (.470 NE, .500 NE, .505 Gibbs and all other half inch cartridges) that are too big for our other leather culling belts. It will even accommodate larger cartridges with some break-in. There is a gap in the middle of the loops to separate softs and solids. Due to the weight of these big bore cartridges we made the leather belt extra-thick so it would provide a stable platform for easy extraction. Even when your rounds are all the way in, the rim tops are above the belt for easy access. The heavy-duty buckle is non-reflective black and secured with two rivets for a lifetime of adventure.

Gray Elephant Culling Belt

About This Product

These culling belts are made to our exacting specifications, sized to fit .300 Magnums through all the various .45 caliber big bores (with some break-in), and have several innovative features. For starters, they are extremely thick to facilitate the removal of big bore cartridges and we designed them so the rim of the cartridge is above the top of the belt so you can get a good grip on them. The tongues are extra long so you can cinch them down tight, even if you are at the top of the size distribution for that particular size. They have 12 loops so you can leave one or two empty in the middle to separate softs from solids. The sizes shown are fitted to go over an existing belt (the one that keeps your pants up) so do not order the next size bigger. For example, if you wear 36" belts, you would order a small (30" - 36") culling belt.

Canvas & Leather Culling Belt

canvas_belt.jpg

About This Product

These are designed after one we saw that was used during elephant culling operations by Rob Murray when he was a Game Ranger with the Rhodesian Parks Service during the 1970’s. We have improved upon the all canvas culling belt concept with this stiffer version that is reinforced with thick leather on both ends. The 3” cotton webbing and heavy-duty brass buckle means you can rally cinch this down to facilitate quick and easy access to big-bore ammo. Bullet loops will expand to hold anything from a 7MM Magnum to .500 nitro but you will have to break them in a bit for the really big stuff. The dozen bullet loops allow you to leave a few of them open in the middle to separate softs from solids. These are designed so the buckle out of the way in the back when the ammo is on your shooting side. Order them a little big so you can put them right over the belt you use to keep your pants up.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
