The DSC Convention will be January 5-8, 2023. It will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The hotel reservation blocks will open July 5. As with SCI in Nashville these hotels will not last long!
I hope to see everyone at our annual AH dinner at DSC.
Regards,
Philip

What is your budget, will you have a car, and will you be here just for the show or is there anything else you want to do in town?

Thanks Philip. Just booked coming in early Friday leaving Sunday

Budget is open. Will drive to Dallas
Want walking distance or shuttle bus.
Only other activities will be AH Dinner.
Will use taxi or Uber for it.
Arrive Thursday. Leave Sunday

From the list, the Adolphus would be my first choice. Best hotel on the list, walkable to the convention center and downtown restaurants and nightlife. Relatively safe walking. The drawback for me would be the $36 a day for valet, but would probably make the best convention experience.

Aloft would be next. Easy walk. On the better side of the convention center. Self parking is the least expensive.

Magnolia is across the street from the Adolphus, a little further walk and not quite as nice. If you’re willing to spend more, the Joule is next door to it and not on the list but is supposedly pretty amazing.

Also not on the list is the Omni. Right across the street and great overall stay. If I didn’t want to get out at all, that would be my pick.

Townplace suites is on the sketchier side of the convention center. The Lorenzo is across the freeway and I would avoid that area if at all possible. I definitely wouldn’t walk it.

The Hyatt Regency looks close, but really isn’t walking friendly. Everything else on the list would be about the same to me. Nothing special and a little further away.

As a general rule of downtown, as a visitor I’d stay away from the south and east sides of the convention center past city hall. Stay away from having to walk past the McDonalds and the Greyhound bus station. And don’t go anywhere near El Centro college.

Well the Aloft is booked up no rooms looks like. So looking at the Adolphus now.
Or Westin Downtown..
Thoughts on those 2 or where are others staying?
Mark

I think the Adolphus bar looks familiar. Think I had a few drinks after get together a couple years ago. Looking forward to 2023

I booked the Westin Downtown. Looks to be about what I needed..
Adolphus was a little more than I needed

Is the Westin's location OK for walking to the Center?
Barring another fun filled cardio event, I plan to be there this time.

Its not a bad hike... I think its about 8 city blocks away.. maybe .5 miles walking between the two?

Walk will depend on the weather, with Dallas that time of year you never know, sunny today, snowing that night :)
I will most likely use the shuttle bus

Roger that. Thanks, Mark.
Hope to see you there.

Adolphus is our favorite in Dallas. Old school charm and adult bartenders who know what they are doing. We are booked.

Recommend me which hotel to stay at please?
We just booked four nights (Wed-Sat) at the Joule. Stayed there for the 2020 convention and really enjoyed our stay. Classy boutique hotel.

PS: Is there AH get together in the works for Dallas?? In the alternative, what's the scoop on the AH Dinner?

It's normally on Friday night in Gilley's, a short taxi ride from the city center. A couple of members will put it together. Jerome will make the announcment and you will send your money to Jerome.

Made mine for the Omni Hotel.
