Delta just cancelled June 1 ATL to JNB flight

Ugh! Here we go!

Not the news I wanted to hear, but thanks for the heads up. Hopefully Delta has the flight up and running come Oct or it will be another Africa-less year for us again.

Bad news. Sorry for everyone affected.

I thought you could fly Dallas to Qutar then direct to Johannesburg. No?

This is the route I’m taking this year... so far so good ...

Travel agent just advised me that Delta cancelled ATL to JNB flight that was scheduled to start June 1st.
Do we know if it’s canceled for the entire month? I’m scheduled to leave the 21st. If anyone comes across the press release, please post here.

I’m hoping this is an awful, early April Fool’s joke.

I hope they are not just jockeying for the next covid handout... errrah bailout. Sadly I wouldn't doubt it. First it's the contrived worldwide panic cancellation of business with little push back from the big players. Then it's dump the 777 for a not-quite-long-enough Airbus model. Next it's the on again, off again flights.

So after at least three reschedulings of all arrangements for a trip two years in a row and keeping the Delta tickets in limbo for the second year, I dumped the whole trip. Was able to get the ticket money back from Delta- but some other deposit/ticket money is gone that I will forever hold Delta responsible for.

I could have pursued the Qatar alternate or delayed/rescheduled again! But it was time to cut the losses. This latest Delta cancellation to some unknown time after June 1 would have forced my trip dates at least two months beyond original plan anyway- a no go... hah! Right now I'm so glad I pulled the plug three weeks ago.

And for those who were able to schedule the Qatar alternate, I do wish the best!

Insanity! Not to armed hijack this thread, but my brother in law went to Mexico a few weeks ago. His Covid "test" was a fever check in the hotel (not at the airport) before returning to the US. Really! How many of those tens of thousands Spring breakers returning from Mexico have spread the virus since returning? Meanwhile, back in the land of STUPID, the restaurants here are sitting people every other table, but you can sit shoulder to shoulder at the bar WITHOUT a mask! The schools here are back to full in school learning, but the open air shooting range where I need to qualify for my CCW renewal Is CLOSED! Stupid is as stupid does!

Rome detour for a few days ? I go there first to see family anyway.
Europe is open to Covid weary and stuck foreign travelers?

The world has lost its mind and the US and Uncle Joe lead the pack!
Last years safari to Africa rescheduled 3 times to this year and after tickets with 5 airlines and
10 different tickets we are headed out on Ethiopian Air (3rd best rated airline in the world from a
country that struggles to feed its people)! I'm done with Delta (esp since they appose election reform in Georgia) and United which as an ESOP needs to fail! And most of all done with the current US administration and its goal to take away my constitutional rights!

I'm booked for the middle of August. Hopefully Not Oct

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
