Drilling 12ga 3" what are the best fixed chokes per barrel?

I've owned four drillings, still have two of them. My favourite choke combos are as previously suggested 1/4&1/2 or second choice 1/2 & 3/4. I doubt it is worthwhile to order anything different than the standard factory offering of 1/2&3/4, Unlesss the gun is not proofed for steel shot at 3/4 choke. Plan for the future! Your gun is going to last a long time and the future is not looking good for lead pellets. Steel, tungsten and such super hard pellets need less choke and may damage a choke that is too tight. The gun should have a fleur-de-lis proof mark if it is Ok for steel. I'm not a fan of steel shot, but it does work OK within its limitations. More and more jurisdictions are demanding nontoxic shot. Tungsten shot is even harder on barrels but is wonderful stuff. It's a nice option for some shooting.
I'd also personally opt for the longer barrels. Likely better handling as a bird gun, and no detriment to rifle shooting, and extra velocity is a small bonus.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
