My horns are nothing like the animals I took in Namibia. Is there a way to restore the rich color and smooth polished texture of them.

I'm sure a taxidermist could give you the proper best way to achieve what your looking for.
That said, I have a lot of pronghorn and a blackbuck euros hanging in my garage. They all looked sort of dry and grey. I saw something online some where so gave it a try... wd40. Gave them a shine and back to black. Totally happy with the results.
But again these are normal animals with very little money invested and totally redneck cure. Lol

Linseed oil and turps 50/50, applied with a brush or rag will re nourish your horns. But beware it will darken them some. Beeswax on a rag also works well.

Solutions will depend on what has caused the issue..
How old are they?
Weathered?
Were they over boiled?

Would you post some pics please. It will be easier to give advice it we can see the issue.

Search “re-conditioning horns” on here

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
