Folks keep telling me that. By that logic, my 9-year old son should be just about ready to plink with a 460 Weatherby LOL…The bigger the guy, the more the recoil is felt. Physics.
Thanks
It might knock him down, but probably not hurt as much, LOL. But we are talking about adults. The recoil pushes back against whatever is behind it.Folks keep telling me that. By that logic, my 9-year old son should be just about ready to plink with a 460 Weatherby LOL…
Absolutely. As I said the individual determines how its handled.I have witnessed much better recoil control on the biggest kickers on the planet, up to ridiculous smokeless powder rifles and 4-bores, with larger framed folks. Smaller framed people just can’t handle what a larger framed person can. Some of the rifles I’m talking about weigh 23-25 lbs. A smaller person can’t lift, aim, and control that rifle yielding 200 lbs of recoil at all. Now I have seen big guys shoot reasonably weighted rifles in useful calibers like 416 Rigby and 458 Lott and complain about vicious recoil when smaller folks with more experience handle those rifles better. That’s not where we disagree. I don’t really feel the need to argue the point further. I may just have a different opinion based on a different set of experiences.
Thanks,
