Any suggestions for Eastern Cape hunting within a reasonable driving distance from Durban?

By the way; Welcome to AH.

You are/or will be in KwaZulu Natal and want to drive to Eastern Cape?

Closest point as the crows fly is 137KM. Its about a 3 hour drive (255KM) by road to get to the provincial border near Kokstad.

You are driving past a lot of hunting opportunity.

Any reason you want to hunt in the EC specifically?

There are lots of good outfitters in the East Cape....what are you looking to hunt? This sort of information will help you find the right hunt.

Thanks. I've spent quite a bit of time in KZN and NWP, and have heard quite a bit about the variety of species and terrain in EC. Next time I am in Durban, was thinking about driving down to check things out (and not have to deal with transporting firearms between airports).

Little Five and Small Cats, but looking for more of a variety and change in terrain--something more mountainous would be nice. Thank you.

Two outfitters come to my mind...KMG Hunting Safari and CT Safaris. Russ Field Safari could find anything too.

Hey, I have been to Bowker...class act, great hunting!

Wayne Grant has a big place outside of Durban, excellent operator and a great camp, shoot me an
e-mail if you are interested and I will send you back his contact info

If you are looking for the small cats and a hunt in that area close to Kwazulu Natal, it will be hard to beat "the Box H"
Get a hold of Hilton Sanders.

I would take Marius's advice to heart Hilton has built a name for himself over the last couple of years for this exact reason...

My best always.
