Ok, so with the Aoudad safely at some very happy clients house I am on to the next project. This is a Colorado elk that the customer requested I make a custom rustic barn wood base with some habitat for. I just finished building the base and below are pics. I will post a few pics of the base itself but alas I don't want to give away all my secrets so they will be limited a bit. I will however post progress pics of the whole project.

You are getting to good at this stuff Gizmo! I think you are creating a lot of work for yourself sir!

Nice looking base. I suspect that this is going to finish up very nice. Bruce

Looking forward to the finished product!

I'll be mock fitting the elk soon. I also made the antlers removable to make the piece easier to move around. I will probably do the same with the elk.

Really like the look of that base for NA game...Your impressing me bro!

Ok, here is the next step.

Oh I've been so excited to start this project. I love this elk. The client got it on public land in Colorado. Heck of an elk for a DIY public land hunt.

Good looking carpentry. And that rack... Wow!

Where exactly is the shop located? I'm having a 58 Chevy Apache built in Borger that will be ready to pick up late fall. Need to stop in and check out the place and say hello.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
