Estate Planning & Taxidermy

Kind of agree with @YancyW. Once I'm gone, I don't really care what happens to it. It's memories for me - but probably mostly junk for my kids!

Since I and a couple of my nephews are the last in a line of hunters people can do what they want to with all of my taxidermy.

All of it holds great memories for me but that's it, they are nothing but dust collectors to others.

Don't care.

It won't be worth much, they can sell it all.

Kids and grandkids can sort it out with the firearms that they will inherit. Thats if i don't have to sell the firearms to buy adult diapers first.LOL

I have all my willed to the family, what they don’t want is getting donated to a museum.

I suspect my wife she will try to sell them (except the Gemsbok), and trash what did not sell. My daughter on the other, will just trash them.

I wish that my memories would mean something to the next generation but probably not.
I had a great uncle who was an incredible outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman ect...
He traveled to Alaska multiple time in a Packard pulling a trailer full of auto parts. My great aunt
told me of the numerous people they helped along the way that she received correspondence
from for thirty plus years! He actually died on a hunting trip in Mexico, they hit a donkey in the
dark and it came thru the windshield and killed him. He had a life size polar bear mounted that I
used to marvel over as a kid! I never met the man but his prowess, Mystique, I don't know it had a
profound effect on my love of the outdoors!!!! Thank you Kenneth Lewis!!!

A few ideas: leave a list of approximate value of things: guns, reloading, etc. It is a shame to see high value items disappear.
Taxidermy value is a flexible concept, but think about how many bars and restaurants have taxidermy in them.
It is worth a conversation with the kids/beneficiaries to see what they want to do. Best case scenario someone really likes a specific item, so give it away now!

My stuff goes to my son. The big issue is the elephant tusks and as he was with me on the hunt and stood right behind me when I shot I do hope he will keep them and pass them down to the grandson. The rest of the stuff I suspect will get sold

Someone mentioned selling them. Is there a market for these, other then to museums, restaurants, movie sets? Is there any legalities to selling them?

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
