Are female Gemsbok eligible for SCI entry? I know many of you view only males as "true trophies", but can females go in the book?

There was a post a while ago, it could of been a week or more than a year the way my time warp works. But it was mentioned that there are more female gemsboks in the record books than males just to the fact of their longer horns.

On my first safari I shot a female along with another hunter and one other shot a male. While the male had larger bases both of our females bested his by a couple of inches.

Here is a picture of my female Gemsbok. The second biggest one taken with that outfitter, and it was my first African animal taken. It is in my eyes, my trophy of a lifetime. I don't measure anything, but the PH wanted to measure it for the owner to know and for their bragging rights.

just before you book the hunt make sure you will be allowed to take a female. I was not told this and did not know to ask before hand and watched a 42-44 inch walk away because the PH said I could not shoot it, I have learned a lot since that time with the help of the fine members on this site
