Firearm requirements for connection in Munich?

I hear there may have been recent changes with transiting firearms through airports in Germany.
I am looking to book my flight for my SA safari in Aug and I will have a connection in MUN.
Anyone know of the new requirements for a permit? If so, any information on how I can obtain it or who to contact?

I came back in april from Joburg to Helsinki via Munich. I has SAA tickets for both flights and my gun goes straight to next flight.
