@krish . I am not really familiar with the CZ Lott rifles, but I have seen CZ .416 Rigbys selling for $1200 - $1500 on many occasions in the past 2-3 years. Is $3500 the going rate now or is there something special about this rifle that makes it so more valuable.

@sierraone
Yes it is the going rate. There are no Nib 458 lott's in CZ in the market. On top of that the stock is very pretty. The cz550 actions alone is selling for close to 1k. Then the stock is around $600 when Cz had them. Add the rest and machinist labour. Again this one is original CZ IN THE BOX. It will go up in price before long.
MRC will be coming on board it looks like. They are not investment casting their action. They are going to machine like granite mountain. It will cost more as each action has to be built one at a time unlike investment casting. Less Bauska actions may enter the market as some states in the west are banning lego guns. They are not inexpensive either. The westcost manufacturer temporarily stoped producing magnum actions in place for lego guns. So we will see what future holds.

Someone better latch onto this one. I do not know if the price is right or not, but what controlled feed rifle could you replace it with for that price.

Hi Krish, You mention the machinist. Did this come from the custom shop?

Not this one. I bought some cz 550 actions. I was pricing stock blanks,sites, barrels, and machinist labour. All cz 550 magnum came from Tripple river gun smithing. They built them for CZ.

There was a fella looking for a fancy grade cz550 safari on here not long ago, though I don't remember if he wanted 416 or 458.

Those are awesome rifles in 416 Rigby I had ro go with the 416 rem mag because of ammo in Alaska. I just bought 37 pcs of new Norma 416 Rigby brass that would help shoot this beautiful rifle. GOOD luck with your sale just pm if you need brass

Hey dgr, I had a 416 rem mag myself not too many months ago. It was a good gun(remington 700) but someone i knew wanted one and I let go of it. Kinda regret it but it is what it is.

I appreciate the offer as well, thank you. I have quite a bit of brass for the Rigbys but if I ever need any I'll let you know.

Thanks again

Nah, I appreciate that but I'll stick with the CZs now that I'm on that path. The reason I regretted letting it go more than anything is because it was not only in pretty good shape but I only paid 1k even for it. I'll never happen upon that kinda deal again lol

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
