Hi guys and gals got a question I have been looking for a ghost ring peep sight that will fit a CZ 550 magnum rifle or a should I say a ZKK 602. I have two NECG CZ 550 ghost ring peep sights but when I tried them there was not enough windage adjustment on them to zero the rifles...... I have the standard express sights and at 100 yards free standing a 5 ltr / 1 gallon water jug is fine to shoot could do it all day on both my .375 and .458 Lott . I spoke to a gun smith and he said that he would probably have to re position the front sight on the barrel but I do not want to do that.

Are there any other peep sights out there that I could try ? Or has anyone been in the same position and how did you fix it ? Or will I just have to bite the bullet and get the front sights repositioned ?

both my 458 lotts have these peep sights but were fitted by gunsmiths.....plenty of adjustment....i know as dropped one and bent the sight arm and instead of trying to straighten it just re-sighted in and had to adjust quite a bit....so if you got someone who can fit it might be an option. when you unscrew the aperture sight it becomes like a ghost ring sight so handy

Great thank you spike.t did you manage to fit those sights on a cz550 / ZKK 602 ?

Hi BRNO zkk602, whereabouts are you located?

no one is on a ruger m77 and the other on custom rifle on mauser 98 action, but i dont see why a gunsmith cant mount one on a cz/brno

I will do some more digging tonight into those Lyman sights and have a proper look at them

Hi BRNO zkk602, whereabouts are you located?

I am in the UK at the moment and both rifles and Sights are in Zimbabwe so only be able to get to them at the end of July when I go back to Zim .......

Ok bit far away.

Mike Neuman in South Africa makes a peepsight that fits on the 19mm dovetail with plenty adjustment. He makes peeps for BP shooters all over the world.
He also makes a sight that uses the screw on a Mauser bolt release to attach that works wonderfull.

I take it your ZKKs dont have the integral pop up peeps?

Do you have Mikes contact details ? Or web address so I can have a look? Unfortunately they don’t I wish they did have it would solve all my problems !! Do you have any of mikes peep sights ? Could you post some pictures ?

Another option of course is a rigby style fitted to the boltshroud

Use the peep you allready have and change the front sight, they come in different heights.

Windage problem, changing the height on front sight won't solve that.

Peep needs to be adjusted or modified.

I'm planning on putting either a Skinner or a NECG ghost ring on a Ruger No 1 in 416Rigby, should be interesting. Will only be using Woodleigh 450 grainers ...

If your NECG sight does not have enough windage adjustment you have a problem with the the front sight. It is cocked to the side. I have had three rifles with that problem in the past. IMHO the best option is to have the front sight re-mounted properly to top dead centre.

Thanks, Longwalker, I'll follow up on that when I mount it all up.
I'm one of those "mature" blokes who learned with peep sights, just haven't played the game for a while.
It'll be like going back to school....
