Carter's Country was where I first shot mine.

Depends how far you are willing to drive. As @Safari Dave mentioned, Carter's Country, on the north side of Houston, is a good spot. No membership required and just pay a fee per rifle. The place can be busy on the weekends.

On the west side of town is America Shooting Center. https://americanshootingcenters.com/
Good place and has longer range targets (200, 300, 400 & 600) This range is huge and busy, but well run with good range officers.

I shot with @Bullthrower338 and @tarbe at some range SE of town, but I think it was a private club.

gotta be able to put 5 inside 6" at 300 yards to go further than that at ASC

On the upside, they do have a 50 yard line for rifles, and if you want to practice shooting a thumper off sticks, pretty sure they will accommodate you.

What part of the city

BTW, I go to a private range with a group of guys once a month out in Columbus. Kind of a hike from Houston, but the range is all ours for the day, and only $10. PM me if you're interested.

Blackwood in Conroe on 2854 is a good place and nice set up. 25 to 200 can be covered from one bench. Just there Friday not crowded since deer season is wrapped up for target practice.

Just out of curiosity, to compare my notes.
What are average range fees, and annual membership fees in ranges and clubs?

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
