Hello to all. I recently came across this site while doing some initial research for a possible trip to Africa, and have found it to be very useful and informative. I am a currently serving Army Officer in the Canadian Army and have hunted most of Canada, Texas and France. I will be deploying to DRC as part of the UN Contingent this August and when i have finished the tour would like to take my first safari to Africa with my spouse. I look forward to planning this safari and to chatting with all of the members on this site.

Welcome to AH

Hi Welcome to AH. You will find a great amount of information. We also wish you al the best whilest being stationed in the DRC. regards from Namibia

Welcome and glad to hear you are in the planning stage of an African hunt. I've hunted several foreign countries but the nation of Texas isn't on my list yet...:)

There is a lot of information here, many, many experiences, advice on where, who, and what. My advice: GO, it will likely change your life. It changed mine.

Welcome to AH adgunner! Enjoy the site and the planning if you have any questions ask away. Feel free to post your pics of the hunts you've been on we would love to see them.

Thanks for the warm welcome and pointing in the right direction. I have started to make contact with some outfitters to discuss the possibilities of a hunt in summer 2013 after my return from DRC with the UN. Look forward to the chat and your input as i go through this process to plan my first safari with my spouse.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
