Hi guys

Nice to be able to join a site and forum like this. I was fortunate to be able to huint all over Africa and some parts of Europe. I have a passion for hunting and fishing and nature. I'm a fish replica specialist and also know all forms of taxidermy. I know most of the South African Taxidermists as well as some of the best in Europe and in The USA.
If someone has a question on taxidermist and taxidermy feel free to ask.
I'm also a member on Taxidermy.net, I've read on these and other forums about the problems the guys are experiencing with bad taxidermy work being done by South African taxidermists. At this stage there is no way to control these bad apples. The only way to try and stop this is to name and shame them and warn others against them.

I think the main method here is to try and steer people to the established taxidermist that we have first hand knowledge with, whether they be located in Africa, the States or Europe. There are great taxidermist and bad taxidermist world wide. Looking forward to your imput! (Pretty extensive list of countries that you have hunted!)

Thanks Guys. I was fortunate to hunt in those countries as I had a some connections there. Got married at a very late stage in my life so I was able to travel. Nowadays I can't hunt that much anymore.
I do hunt locally in South Africa as I still know a lot of farmers and still have a few consessions where I can hunt. Mostly I make replicas of fish for guys catching a trophy, have recently finished a 45kg goliath tigerfish from the Congo for a client. Have also done a few tigerfish for clients from the States,Europe and Australia. I also specialize in some if the rare species of fish and all salmonoid species that hunters from South Africa catch in Canada or BC when some go hunting there.
As far as taxidermists go South Africa has unfortunately more bad apples than good ones. The other problem is the shipping companies overcharge the foreign hunters to get their trophies. I have helped a few friends from overseas that had problems getting their trophies from taxidermists this side. From missing capes to swapped horns. As I know taxidermy and have lots of experience in the industry its easy for me to sort out these problems. They can't bs me as a face to face is always better.
