I'm posting this a day ahead of time, so you can use this (at your own risk) tomorrow.

Most people don't know that back in 1912 Hellman's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the "Titanic" was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City.

Mexicans were crazy about the stuff.

The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate("desperados") at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning which they still observe today.

It is known, of course, as ...sinko de Mayo.

I'll avoid the risks.... Thanks for the groan.

Oh good gosh that was a stinker :)

I may well use it! Thanks

F---ing Ridiculous, I love it

I'll admit I laughed

And I did just send out to others!

Sinko de mayo - gotta use that one!

Well, a bunch of us are heading to the restaurant at the US Consulate in Lagos tonight to eat Nigerian style Tex Mex and celebrate Cinco De Mayo. I guess if Trump gets elected El Presidente, he'll outlaw this.

:)Enjoy your consulate dinner in Africa's first city! Do you think Trump would outlaw it or just make them charge a bunch to eat there?

The consulate, like everywhere else in Lagos, already charges a bunch. Costs are 2 to 3 times typical US rates for anything and everything. No freebies.
