Have checked out the site for some time now, figured I'd finally make a post and introduce myself. I grew up hunting birds, deer and antelope in South Dakota/Nebraska and plan on making my first adventure to Africa sometime in 2018 after I graduate from nursing school. Glad to be joining up with a great community!

Welcome aboard, enjoy, looking forward to your participation!

Good luck with your studies and enjoy the planning of your first African experience!

Welcome to AH Dakafall! Nice to have you on the posting side, looking forward to reading your posts. Have you decided which country you were going to hunt for your first adventure to Africa?

Welcome to AH and thank you for becoming a nurse.

Hello Dakafall and Welcome!

I've been hunting Nebraska for years.... Wonderful sportsman's state. Some of the best turkey hunting on the planet right there around Gothenburg. Speedgoat and deer hunting in the Sand Hills isn't too bad either!

Right now leaning towards SA but definitely open to options. I'll be going with my father and he hunted Bostwana back in 1989 and would like getting back there as well (pending legality at the time).

I agree, I love hunting here. We have a thousand acre ranch up by Calamus that used to be good for turkey until GFP made us cut all the roost trees down once we put it in wetland easement but it still holds good numbers of deer, prairie chickens, and ducks. I've yet to get my Nebraska antelope, have only taken them in SD and WY, but easily one of my favorite animals to hunt. Hope to get back out to Wyoming this fall for an Elk/Antelope combo hunt before classes start up again.

Welcome to AH, Botswana is open on private land still, I have turkey hunted Nebraska several times, always a blast (pun intended) Im curious as to why you had to cut the roost trees down as a result of a wetland easement, (Im a forester in Alabama and they freak out on us if we remove trees from a wetland easement, your tax dollars at work)

Have fun planning.
Welcome to the posting side.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
