Hunted
Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Namibia, Australia, Spain, Germany, all over the United States
2024 was my best hunting year for a long time. It started in Austria in the Northern Dolomites for Black Grouse in May. Then a 3 roe bucks in Hungary in July, with a missed opportunity on chamois. Then 2 fallow bucks in Slovenia, with another tough fruitless hunt for chamois in November. Followed by a drive hunt in Germany, albeit also fruitless. I have a hunting area in Germany that is almost always full of walkers, dogs, horse riders and so on. So I don't do much in there and I won't lease it next year. Anyway it was a very good year.

It is actually two separate bucks. They are both damn near identical menil.

I fixed the photos so you can see both heads. They are twins in the body but not in the head.

Antlers are quite a bit different.

Roe bucks weighed 430 grams, 230 grams and 367 grams.

That 430 has fabulous bases. Waidmannsheil! I am heading to Hungary in April for Roe deer.

I’m really wanting to hunt Europe for the deer species and perhaps a boar. Love those fallow bucks!

The 430 buck was aged at 8 and so was the 367 buck.

The 367 buck was a smoking deal, as I got him for about $1000. As he was in the sweet spot of between 300-400 grams.

The big buck was the biggest buck taken that August. There were a couple 500 gram bucks taken in the spring.

With the exchange rate last year, the 400 plus gram bucks were over $2000 which is a smoking deal for that quality.

My outfitter leases an entire Hungarian area, kind of like hunting farm fields in the midwest.

They shoot about 45-50 bucks a year there.

He has a place in Spain and the bucks are basically twice as expensive with the over 500 gram bucks in the $8000 range.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
