Well gents, I finally did it. I dropped my military retirement papers; my retirement ceremony will be 4 Nov, with an effective retirement date of 14 Dec 2017 (on my granddaughter's birthday). It's a bitter sweet feeling, but I am sure it's not going to sink in until the day I am officially out of the USAF. By the time I retire, I would have served 34 years, 8 months & 28 days. ;) It's been a fantastic ride, and if I had to do it again, I would signed in on the dotted line without hesitation. I am an old dinosaur, and it's a different military now, time for me to fade away with all the old farts of my generation. LOL!!!!! :ROFLMAO:
:ROFLMAO:

I hope I posted this in the right place.

Congratulations! I retired from the Army Guard/Reserve in 96 and for the most part have been going non stop since then. Dinosaur yes, but if you have your health you have a lot of hunts left in you, not to mention a lot of teaching you have to do for that granddaughter!!!

And I promise you, unless she is already a teenager, she will not know you are a dinosaur!

Wish you the best @PARA45 , It´s not that bad to be a dinosaur ;)

HOPE THERE IS PLENTY OF HUNTIN IN YOUR FUTURE, THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Congrats!

Thank you very much for your service.

Going to stay in GA or elsewhere?

Congrats Sir! Great to hear!

I may be headed down your way next week. I'll give you a ring the day before I do.

Retiring in your mid 50s can be either good or bad, depending on what your plans are. You will have to find something to do to take up your time. As much as I live to hunt and shoot, realistically you can only do so much of it. Here's hoping you can find the right balance of activities that allows you to make the most of your retirement.

Congrats and thanks for serving!

Congratulations and thank you for your service!

Thank you gents, and specially thank you for your support. I have a straight civilian lined up here on base, so I will continue to work. My wife and I will stay in GA, we like the southern hospitality we've received so far. Plus, I hate moving. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

best of luck to you,ive been retired since 2003 and love it.

Thank you for your service. Time to have some fun I'd say.

Congrats. I retired in 2013. It's definitely different being out. But it's good as I have time for my kids and hunting.

Congrats sir and enjoy your retirement......you earned every minute of it!

Congrats sir, and thanks again for your service!

I retired in 91. Time has flown by. Did a beltway bandit job, and now I am really retired, and relearning how to have fun hunting and fishing. Congratulations and keep busy!

Congrats and God bless you. Thank you very much for your service
