I hate accountants (venting)

Last month I left a cheque for tips and one last trophy fee and when they tried to cash it it bounced. I get looking into it and my accountant has paid business expenses from my personal account (which I don't keep a large balance in). I contacted them and "corrected" the problem then mailed a new cheque with my apologies. That cheque just bounced and I see they have AGAIN paid company bills from my personal account!!!???

I contacted them again and they admitted that they are growing too fast and subed work out without my approval or knowledge.

I just got off a very apologetic phone call with the outfitter and paid by visa plus a big sorry bonus tacked on as well for his trouble.

I hate accountants!!!!!

You need a checking account that no one else has access to. That doesn't solve the real problem (incompetence), but is a temporary workaround.

I had an accountant who was terrible. Unfortunately, he quit to take another job and denied me the satisfaction of firing him.

hey hitch, in Canada don't you have to give the number crunchers approval of what accounts they have accsess to ?
ours only have authority of accsess to buissness accounts .......
I bet the out fitter was sceptical ...........

Ya they have access to both but for different reasons. they do not need both simply for business.

They have done well for me but lately they are getting too many new accountants and my account is getting passed around, it annoys me tremendously to be asked all the same questions that they already have the answers to by some new person handling my account. Subing it out was one step further into incompetence.

Im sure he figured I was a deadbeat, there was no way I was sending him a 3rd cheque.

In all the hunts I've been on, I have only run into one hunter who was a lawyer - or at least, only one who admitted to being a lawyer. Why? Do people with guns make them nervous?

My accountant/CPA does my taxes..... That's it. I pay my own bills, personal & professional. That way there is nobody to blame but myself.

The great part of all that is you have been hunting for 56 years.

An awful lot of lawyers hang out with me hunting and shooting too. Like most folks I think they like to refrain from leading in with their day job when not working.

My accountant/CPA does my taxes..... That's it. I pay my own bills, personal & professional. That way there is nobody to blame but myself.

I'm with you most of the way here. I ditched using a CPA for taxes after the one and only time we used one. He screwed up our taxes and then charged an outrageous amount. That it was my then best friend's dad made it even worse.

Nowadays, with tax software, it is easy enough to do myself.

Worse yet, my accountant, until I fired her last year, was my mother-in-law. Every time I tried to fire her, she would tell her daughter. I finally resolved to fire her in spite of my wife's literal crying fits, after 5 years.
