That would be on the low end for daily rates and number of days. I know where you just hunted has significantly lower daily rates than most other outfitters and less minimum days, but typically it’s $1500-$2500 per day depending on the area and PH and $20-$30k trophy fee booked in advance. Minimum 18-21 days. I’ve only seen higher trophy fees listed for bubye valley. The trophy fees for bait like buffalo and hippo will add up fast though. Zambia and Tanzania would be even more expensive. A few good deals pop up occasionally though, my biggest hunting mistake has been turning down a problem lion/lioness hunt in Namibia on short notice for $25k all in.To give you one perspective, a quality lion hunt in Zim fitting all requirements to get your lion back will be minimum 14 days at $900-$1,000 per day rates. A trophy fee from $30,000 to $40,000 on top and you have your lion
That’s probably on the lower end of the price spectrum. While there are wild lion hunts out there in that price range, you’re more than likely looking at $80-100k for one of the outfitters with the data and evidence to substantiate USFWS approval on importation, especially if you’re looking at Zimbabwe.Absolutely, I was told it would be in the 50k range. Maybe one of these days I’ll manage it. For now, I’m going for some of the more affordable hunts and I know I’ll really enjoy it.
Craig the baiting can be much, much more than that. Each hippo is $4500. Ask me how I knowExcellent points! Yes I quoted what it would have cost me in the Omay if I had quota three weeks ago and did not include baiting costs which could run 7,000 to $10,000
Yes wild lions are importable. I would say $60K is the low end all in. I too recommend speaking to John Jackson at Conservation Force for the latest on importing.Absolutely, I was told it would be in the 50k range. Maybe one of these days I’ll manage it. For now, I’m going for some of the more affordable hunts and I know I’ll really enjoy it.
Everyone, my good friend Phillip Glass took a magnificent lion in the area I am talking about. He knows better than me…obviously lions eat more than leopards, my bad. PM Philip if you want to know more details. He is a wealth of information and one of the very nicest people you will ever want to meet, a true pleasure!!!Craig the baiting can be much, much more than that. Each hippo is $4500. Ask me how I know

I have been looking into a Lion Hunt with all my heart & soul. I contacted Conservation Force and they gave me a lot of great information. When looking for a PH you must also look into the research and the 25 pages or more of paper work he must fill out for you to have the opportunity to get a ESA Permit from the USF&G. There seems to only be very few countries that the USF&G look favorable upon.
If anyone here can give me more info on PH's that have the ability to have done the research and completed paper work I would be in debt.
Thank youI recommend Werner Van Nordwyk in Zambia. Excellent outfitter and I got my Lion into the USA in 15 months.
