Hello, I was curious if it is illegal to import walrus tusks in the US. I can't find a definite answer online. If any of you have any insight that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brickburn, I know that walrus hunting in the US is illegal. However, I see that some there are some outfitters in Canada that offer walrus hunting. What I'm confused about is if you are able to bring back a walrus tusk from one of those hunts.

The USFWS chooses to restrict Americans all the time.
The latest, the elephant and lion fiasco.
Brown Hyena etc

We (most of the rest of the planet) can hunt them and import them with the proper CITES permits.

As you noted with Walrus there are some hunts that are available here in Canada. Inuit have a quota that they can make use of.

You will not be able to import the parts into the USA. You can get replicas made.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
