Anyone know why Nikon quit making rifle scopes? Is it a wine thing or what. I have several of them and always liked them.

Nikon had some crazy rule, that if you sold their cameras, you could not sell rifle scopes and vice versa and dealers were not happy. Unfortunately, Nikon decided their was not enough money in selling Rifle scopes and dropped the line, making camera dealers happy, Cameras and Binoculars sell well, at least for now.

That is unfortunate. I loved their scopes.

I have a 2x7 Monarch 5 on my 375 and a 1x4 Monarch 5 on my 416. I’ve never had to rezero them since I installed them in 2015. I’ve shot both extensively and the 416 has made it to Africa and back.

Yep. Got 4 Monarch Africans. 375, 404 and 458 Lott. One spare. They have all been solid

Keep an eye on E-bay. Every now and then one will pop up. Picked one up a few months ago for reasonable money.
Another good one no longer in production is the Weaver Extreme.
