Jamison brass quality

I used their 505 brass years ago and had no complaints.

I know nothing about Jamison but if you do decide to buy some, be sure to caliper the dimensions before reloading. Forty "new" RWS cases came with my 404J dies. Turns out they were short in length. Consequently I set my dies up incorrectly and had trouble getting those sloping shoulder beltless cartridges to snap over in my Mauser 98 action. Discovered the discrepancy after obtaining a box of new correct length Hornady brass. The RWS brass should be okay after fire forming and reloading with dies properly set up.

Wow! Bummer specially when RWS is highly prized and supposedly expensive

I have no knowledge of .470, but generally very good quality. Sad to see them go out of business. I bought several lifetime supplies of Jamison brass for a rare caliber earlier this year. It was painful, but only way to buy it was the entire lot.

How is their quality, looking for 470 ne brass

I got a fair amount with my first double. It has all been shot at least once. I liked it and tried to get more, but from what I can tell Jamison International is no longer in business.

They initially went out of business in 2011 or 12 and then restructured with new management/ownership. Plugged along until some point in 2019. In 2019 they offered the brass I bought for $2.25 each. Ooooof.

I've used them with good results.

Too bad they went out of business. I have some .416 Taylor cases made by Jamison. Good quality brass.

Always had good service out of Jamison Brass in .577NE, .500NE & a couple of other odd ball calibers !

Pity they are gone now, I was hoping they would make a come back.

On another thread recently there was talk of two European makers of oddball brass, one in Switzerland and the other one German I think. Did any of you see that? I looked at the sites from posted links but not in English.

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
