I’ve been there. It’s a unique, fun and easy hunt for a beautiful antelope. Also easy to add on to other Zambian safaris.

Did you get the cancellation lion safari sold? Hope so.

Hi Scott, yes it's a really fantastic experience to hunting on this flats... lion is still available for 2023 !

Beautiful animals!

How many hunting days are included? Thanks!!
There are thousands of lechwe so my hunt was one day. The challenge is to find a bigger than average male. Similar to a pronghorn hunt in the western USA.

Looks like 1. Think of it as an amuse-bouche for the safari connoisseur.

I had to look up what that phrase meant. Usually it’s an add on to a larger trip. I think the kafue flats is an open area for all outfitters? Not leased to a particular outfitter?

You are correct. Same for Bangweulu Swamp for black lechwe.

So perhaps more suitable if someone traveling to RSA for a safari and afterwards like to adding on this Kafue Lechwe hunting it's a $350 usd roundtrip air ticket to Lusaka from Johannesburg. Off course if someone like to flying to Zambia from US and extend the stay in Victoria Falls for example we are only 3 hours away from the falls

The kafue flats is a great location and interesting hunt for an add on like @MBIZI SAFARIS has mentioned.
its quite a sight to see thousands of animals and try get close enough with only blades of grass and a few patches of long reeds for cover.

Kafue Lechwe, Black Lechwe and Sitatunga are awesome swamp hunts for anyone heading over to zambia.

This one was taken during the rut end of July... as you see there is Lechwe in the background when we take the trophy protos, you can easy see 1500-2000 lechwe there ! Tricky thing is to find a +30" ram and then make sure that the client see the same one, not so easy because they moving when they grassing.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
