I am quite certain that will be the case. It will likely require a series of counseling sessions, concluding with the consumption of the psychiatrist. Time will be of the essence, as it will be important to recover the remains of the psychiatrist for the family. After all, who wants to bury cat scat in the family plot??

Have you looked at the CITES permit application? A lot of conditions there from anti-poaching support to a lot of other specifics about the outfitter.

I missed the line about the number of therapy sessions for the lion though.

Aside from the already and impeding comical responses, Kudubull there is about .000000001% (I borrowed that from Rookhawk I believe in another thread which were the quoted odds of randomly killing a leopard in Zim but those might be better odds then importing this lion) of that happening. As also noted, there are very restrict regulations involved in which lions could even be CONSIDERED much less approved for importation. All this is predicted on you referring to the USA. If an outfitter is telling you this in an effort to sell a hunt- run !!

And maybe Troubled is just a Typo of 'Trouble'

A trouble or Nuisance Lion should be shot.

I do wonder if a Problem Lion could be exported/Imported as a Trophy. I suspect not.

I think even a man killer Lion would be restricted. These days it probably up to authorities to Hunt a dispatch man killers so I doubt they can be kept as trophies. .

Problem animals in Namibia are exportable permits (unlikely to be imported into USA though). The problem with your statement “trouble or nuisance lion should be shot” though is to an African villager every lion, leopard, elephant is a problem animal. A lot of the permits issued probably shouldn’t be. People go out at night or move their cattle where they shouldn’t then lion is to blame. They should just give a yearly or multi year planned quota, but politics don’t let that happen everywhere anymore so problem permits get issued and bring in much less revenue.

Yep, fair call.
I guess my statement loosely meant a Lion that hunts humans. I know nothing of the politics or problems.
I'm referring to Lions that have moved where they do impact on humans.
And Lions like the Man-eaters of Tsavo.

Australia is vastly different. Native animals are protected. Harvesting Kangaroos under permit is an industry. Culling Kangaroos, Emus and Ducks that decimate crop or available feed can be done on permit.

We don't have exotics or Dangerous Game as such (Buffalo are DG)

I've read on India when they have a Tiger that kills they pursue it and destroy it.

Authorities will search for sharks after an incident. Removing a problem shark after an attack if it can be identified.

I hate sharks they give me the creeps. I admire Lions and Grizzly bears, both as trophies and huntable game, but they are out of my league.

Given hunting is an Industry in Africa any ethically taken game should be exportable to the hunter who earned it.

KuduBull, I see you have not resonped yet on all the answers given basically as far as I understand Lion trophy imports into the US is based on case to case and basically you have to prove that it was a wild lion and there is a program in place to look after them in the region where you hunt them.
Captive Bred Lions is a no which in my logoc doesn't make any sense since you didn't have a impact on wild lion population which is in a decline.

But yes it sucks like Gemsbok said you can import a black rhino which is more endagered but not a lion.
