Hi, I am looking for some info re hunting in L2 in Niassa. Anybody been there lately, or can give me a thread to somebody who has hunted there in the last 12 months or so

Cheers

DCH Hunting don't know much about the Niassa L2 area but if your looking for a hunt in Mozambique we have a couple really good outfitters right here on AH that would be glad to work with you.

Never hunted L2 but surely you know that belongs to Calitz Safaris and my dear friend you cannot go wrong with such a name in this industry altough i consider Luwire Safaris next door L7 by far the best block in the Niassa Reserve.
Cheers.

L2 is owned by Calitz Safaris. I know last month they took 3 great leopards. 11 of the 14 baits for were by different leopards. Ivan Carter was the PH. Different blocks are definitely better for certain species.

Fantastic areas.
Have a good look on Luwire Safaris anti poaching efforts on their area.
There is not any other company in Mozambique doing similar effort .
They have more than 60 well trained scouts .
These guys are just fantastic ....and with a lot of money !

Simply the best area in Mozambique for lion , leopard and elephant.

Luwire Safaris L7 or Calitz Safaris L2 next door are simply the best companies in Niassa Reserve by far and i know what i am talking about.

I simply disagree with your statement. Mc Donald safaris every year takes fantastic lion and leopards. Sofola province, the Zambezi Delta, is known to have the highest concentration of leopards in Africa, I am sure Coutada 10, 11, 12 won't agree with you on the best leopards either, as well as some of the operators from Tete.

Luwire sure has taken great elephant, but are they the best for elephant in Mozambique is debatable.

Dereck sure is doing a great job with his anti-poaching scouts. As you say lots of money, wish I could have someone to help bankroll my anti-poaching scouts, not so easy when it all comes out of your own pocket. Indi, I have had two elephants poached in the last six years, the most recent one was in July. Have you ever been to my area? Simply I got no idea who you are or how you can draw the conclusion you have stated, if you have any studies of what you are talking about, would love to read them, could only help the conservation efforts we all trying to do in Mozambique.

Ps...if you got any help for anti-poaching scouts, please contact me...

Pretty ballsy statement !!!!

Hey hey dont be angry with me guys , i was only giving you my opinion.
Maybe i made a more than strong statement here and i apologize if i hurt some of you that i know are also operators.
I am sorry for that it was not my intention.
Obviously Sabie is a very good area , just to small for my understanding.
30 .000 hectars next door to Kruger surely is good enough but not my type of hunting but although excellent area and company.
Mokore Safaris with coutada 9 also excellent company and area runed by great people.
Bawa in Tete with Safaris de Mocambique and Simon also one of the best as well as Marromeu Safaris coutada 10 and Zambeze Delta with coutada 11 and 12 among the best ones.

But please read my last post , i said that those two areas were the best by far inside the Niassa Reserve and not from all Mozambique and that statement i will maintain it and again i know what i am talking anout !

Indi, definitely not angry. ..." Simply the best area in Mozambique for lion , leopard and elephant." That I do take offense to and don't agree with your comment.

That they the two best inside the Niassa Reserve, quite possible.

Hi Guys

Just back from Niassa L2. Will post a factual account on L2 in the Hunting report section. Suffice to say it was a great hunt!!

@Indi, you seem to know a whole lot about Moz areas and hunting and you keep saying "I know what I am talking about". I am curious as to how you know so much about all the different areas? Could you share with us please.

@IvW
The guy made those comments in 2014 and hasn’t been here on AH since April 2016. Good question however.
