My 600 Overkill...

Just sweet and smooth! Working on load development next week. Thinking of focusing on 825 CEBs only... so very happy I got rid of my 577 TREX and 585 there just is no comparison for displacement. 577 TREX got close to performance but the 600 OK tops them all... unless of course you are shooting a 4 bore.

And why would anyone want such a rifle? And I mean that seriously. As a client, I can do anything with a .416 that can be done with that beast (frankly, I prefer to do it with a .375). What in your experience says such a thing is necessary - much less useful?

I seriously hope you are not planning on putting a brake on that threaded barrel.
From the picture, it looks like it came with a brake.
I can't even imagine the concussion from standing next to you while shooting.

How much does that rifle weigh ? It looks to be pretty standard CZ- just like mine .

I sat in the back of the range house when a guy was working working his 500 A square to some crazy velocity like 2700 fps. You could feel the thump in your chest of the bang from 5 m away. This must be something to shoot.

i would like to know the backthrust on the boltface of such cartridges, and how that relates to such things as lug setback on any action i used for them.
actually i might prefer a 460 wby if going down this path.
it might compete in killing power, and shoot flatter.

12.6 lbs lite for a 600 OK a beauty to shoot much more managed than a DR in 500NE and 10,000 to 12,400+ ft-lbs energy in only a 825-900 grain bullet. 720 grain bullets fly over 2700 fps with ease making the 500s seem mild by comparison. Built for black death and if you ever see SAFARIKIDD on the forums he can attest to the killing ability of the 600 OK. I built this for specific purpose and we build them in 16.5" to 26" barrel lengths. The shorter 600s make a formidable carbine for stalking in deep bush

416 Rigby is my all time favorite. I built the 600 because that is what some of my clients and customers want. The bug hit me so I built one for myself too. They are not as "OVERKILL" as you think. Very managed in the right built rifle

With 700 to 825s the recoil is well managed without a brake. Shoots like a 458 Lott with 600+ solids. with 900 Gr. Woodleighs you had better hold on the torque will rip it from your hands and make follow up shots near impossible. Standing shooting stance only with this beast, it will jump right off shooting sticks

Forrest! I only have a puny Lott, but I’ll bet those 600 grainers would be on the verge of wresting my 9.3lb CZ rifle out of my hands. Still looking for that experience!

They are easily shot and managed. My PH in the EC primarily hunts Cape Buff, his primary is a 458 Lott, the 600 OK will be his client backup weapon for when his clients shit in their pants as they miss a shot on a hard charging Black Death...
